In Northern California, we protected the water quality of the Russian River when the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the City of Healdsburg’s discharges from a wastewater treatment pond were illegal. This was the first interpretation of the Supreme Court’s landmark Rapanos Clean Water Act decision; a case where we had filed an amicus brief on behalf of a coalition of westerners.
