Acting as local counsel for our allies at the Energy Minerals Law Center, we’re working to recover public records for Diné C.A.R.E. and the San Juan Citizens Alliance improperly withheld by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. These important records pertain to the controversial Desert Rock Energy Project and BHP’s Navajo Mine. By obtaining these records, we hope to help Diné C.A.R.E. and the San Juan Citizens Alliance in their fight against these ill-informed projects which threaten to expose people – in particular the Navajo – to intensified toxic pollutants.
