1000 Friends of New Mexico is a non-profit membership group advocating for sustainable community development.

They promote policies and actions that respect New Mexico’s people and places by offering long-term models for growth that improve the region’s economic vitality. 1000 Friends of New Mexico works with community leaders, neighborhoods and citizens to develop sensible alternatives to the unsustainable growth patterns that currently dominate our natural and built environments.  We take a holistic approach to community livability; one that aims to broaden economic opportunity to include all citizens, revitalize existing neighborhoods, and make wise and equitable investments in the public’s infrastructure.
